While the MAD Gallery predominately features Mechanical Art Devices, it is also a celebration of all genres of mechanical art. MB&F is therefore delighted to present an exhibition of limited-edition prints by Denis Hayoun which have as their subject the renowned artistic engineering of Jean Tinguely.

January 2012 marks the official opening of the MB&F MAD Gallery! To celebrate this moment we are proud to present Swiss photographer Denis Hayoun and his beautiful series of photographs, “A Vision of Tinguely’s World”.

HM4 Limited Editions : Razzle Dazzle & Double Trouble

Art often thrives under adversity so it should come as no surprise that during WW2, artists found their canvases in unusual places such as on the nose cones of aircraft. This led to an aesthetic, often racy means of expression called ‘nose art’. With their hand painted titanium fuselages, real rivets, vintage-look dials and authentic military leather strap, Razzle Dazzle and Double Trouble see HM4 Thunderbolt– a state-of-the-art Horological Machine – transformed into a celebration of these airborne masterpieces.

The 2011 MB&F new release

The new Legacy Machine is born. While MB&F’s futuristic Horological Machines have a firm foundation in the very best of traditional horology, Maximilian Büsser wanted to pay homage to the rich watchmaking heritage of the 18th and 19th centuries by imagining the type of timepieces MB&F would have created if it had existed 100 years ago.

Fingers: An eternally tapping reproduction of the artist’s own hand

This mechanical sculpture – an exact copy of the artist’s own hand, albeit with a few additional mechanics thrown in – will bring a touch of humour to your living room or office and a smile to your visitors’ faces. At the flick of a switch the resin cast fingers drum rhythmically and incessantly – until they’re switched off again that is.
